On September 24, SPEAC hosted the second session in its monthly webinar series highlighting tools and resources developed to support vaccine safety monitoring and assessment.
Introduction to the Brighton Collaboration Vaccine Safety Templates & Benefit-Risk Module (BRAVATO) brought together 127 live participants from 40 countries, including 19 low- and middle-income countries, for a discussion of two interrelated tools designed to support vaccine safety evaluation and benefit-risk assessment.
Supporting Structured Vaccine Safety and Benefit-Risk Assessment
The webinar introduced the Brighton Collaboration Vaccine Safety Templates, which provide a standardized framework for summarizing key vaccine characteristics, including safety, immunogenicity and efficacy data relevant to benefit-risk considerations.
The session also explored the Benefit-Risk Assessment Module, a structured framework supporting the planning, conduct and evaluation of vaccine benefit-risk assessments using evidence from clinical trials, post-marketing studies and real-world settings.
Together, these tools are designed to facilitate objective scientific discussion and inform decision-making among key stakeholders.

Putting the Tools to Use
Post-webinar feedback indicated substantial interest in further exploring and applying the resources. Among respondents to the relevant survey question, 86% said they were likely or very likely to explore, pilot or use the tools in their work.
The session also reflected the global reach of the SPEAC webinar series, with participants joining from 40 countries worldwide, including 19 LMICs.
