The Safety Platform for Emergency vACcines
SPEAC is a project of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) and Brighton Collaboration. SPEAC provides vaccine safety tools, resources, and expertise throughout the vaccine development process to enhance safety and build confidence in vaccines.
Objectives
SPEAC experts are building a robust safety monitoring service with three goals:
SPEAC provides tools and services for harmonized safety monitoring in vaccine studies of known epidemic and pandemic threats by supporting vaccine developers and CEPI-funded clinical trial awardees.
SPEAC harnesses the learnings around safety monitoring of vaccines to improve the efficiency of safety data collection and knowledge sharing.
SPEAC connects vaccine safety experts and partners globally.
SPEAC Vaccine Safety Tools
SPEAC supports vaccine developers by developing tools and services for harmonized safety monitoring in vaccine studies of known epidemic and pandemic threats. The tools include:
- Lists of Adverse Events of Special Interest (AESI)
- Brighton Collaboration Case Definitions and Companion Guides
- Vaccine Templates
- Guidance documents
